Le think tank britannique Adam Smith Institute (libertarien à 100 %) vient de publier un article d'Oliver Knipping, un membre du Berlin Manhattan Institute for Free Enterprise (un think tank allemand vaguement environnemental). L'auteur n'y va pas par quatre chemins : selon lui, la "dénationalisation" des routes pourrait réduire les coûts des accidents routiers, les dommages environnementaux et le stress des conducteurs, ainsi que fluidifier le trafic routier. Sans blague. En tout cas, l'idée semble plaire à l'Adam Smith Institute, partisan éternel du moindre État.

Motorways and regional and communal roads should be transferred to private providers. Entrepreneurs should be in charge of operations, maintenance and the construction of new road networks. Also, the providers should decide the method of financing. Roads could be financed by ad posters, electronic commercials or sponsorship – as is already done in soccer stadiums and the like.
